iNTERNAL FAMILY SYSTEMS (IFS) - PSYCHOLOGY MAGAZINE
IFS is a form of therapy based on the premise that we all carry different 'parts' within us: a critical part, an anxious part, a pleaser, a perfectionist, a wounded child. Parts that originated to protect us from pain or difficult situations. In therapy, you enter into a dialogue with these inner voices from your 'Self'—the calm, compassionate, and present part. This leads to greater understanding, balance, and less inner conflict.
